My friends, their families and my family took some time off yesterday.
We all needed that much awaited break from the daily grind. There were sixteen
of us, young and some not so young J.
We were excited and happy to spend time together, visit nature, just, have lots
of fun. The day began early when we met at the spot we most often do. As
the journey to Satara began, we recited a small prayer, and then, predictably
turned on the music player to the much loved Bollywood songs. But, honestly,
none was interested in music at that point in time. We all had a lot of catching
up to do. Everyone pitched in about what they were doing, which new recipes
they had tried out etc. Most of all, my friends wanted answers about how I am
busy even on Sundays these days J
I just let that pass, I said yes, only one more Sunday now, don’t worry J
Anyways, invariably, all of us got hungry and we stopped to
have a lovely breakfast. The party then proceeded to the Resort where were
supposed to have lunch. We visited a temple on the way and paid our respects. We
reached the resort in no time; it just flies when you are with your loved ones.
The place was beautiful, set on a mountain top with an amazing view of the
valley. We sat on the benches looking at the absolutely mesmerizing view. After
a quick lunch we started off to another place of worship. All of us were
chatting, singing, and got taller, from all the leg pulling !!!! This next
mandir was an underground one, peaceful and pious.
On the way back, nature presented us with a treat. We saw
wet, thin clouds, travelling the roads through the mountains. We alighted the
vehicle and literally walked through them. The mist, cool air, played wonders
on us. It was a mind blowing experience, enough to give us joy for some months
at least. I say some months as it will be soon that we start talking about the “next
trip”. The only thing that worried us all throughout was and is the scanty rains
we have received this year. Hope the God of rains decides to oblige us soon.
We headed back post a little dinner and reached Pune late in
the night. It was time to bid each other, goodbye, and see you soon J
